Journalist Wendell Theodore attacked, car stolen

The level of insecurity continues to increase in Haiti and anyone can be a victim. Now you can include the Director of Radio Tele Metropole, Journalist Wendell Theodore as the latest victim of insecurity in Haiti. According to information obtained, on Friday evening of December 11, the journalist was the victim of a carjack by some armed bandits. As he was driving his white Rav 4 Toyota in delmas 75, he was attacked by gunmen who fired in the air and took his car with everything in it. Following the attack, it was reported that Wendell Theodore who was unharmed by the incident, was troubled emotionally and visibly agitated.

Haitian President Martelly has announced his appointment of Joseph Damas as General Director of Haiti National Radio and Television. He is a talk-show host on Radio Metropole.

He will work with recently appointed Harrison Ernest, now Deputy General Director of Haiti National Radio.

The two men will work to strengthen the progressive agenda, reporting on issues affecting all Haitians. They desire the Haitian public be part of the national conversation on the government's decision-making process.

She broke her contract with Radio Metropole on May 3, 2013 because as she stated she felt that the freedom of the press in Haiti. She find herself in a position where several issues of Metropolis broadcasts were censored by Radio Metropole.
She has been in the media for close to 28 years. The last show of metropolis is to be broadcasted Saturday, July 27 and August 3, 2013, at which time, Metropolis will cease to exist on Radio Metropole,
