Tony Moïse Leaves His Mark on Mini-Jazz
Mini-Jazz innovator Tony Moïse's sudden death from heart problems has stunned the Haitian government. Culture Minister Darguste said Moïse's passing leaves a void in Compás music.
Moïse studied classical music at Petion Louverture and became a student of Gerard Alvarez, who taught him musicianship.
Moïse learned both guitar and saxophone, and was instrumental in the Mini-Jazz movement of the 60s and 70s. He co-founded the group Shleu-Shleu and released nearly three dozen recordings in almost four decades.
Brutus, Reginald Cange, Richie,Nikenson Prud'Homme, Zenglen
The entire group was there. The Haitian music band Zenglen was produced many stars and many who are now doing well should thank someone like Richie. In this picture, we were able to capture some of those who graduated successfully in the training that Zenglen has been providing for so many.

Difficiles de Petion-Ville in Haiti in the 70s
The members of the band, Les Difficiles de Petion-Ville include, on lead vocals, Henry Celestin (founding member), Robert Martino (guitars, founding member), John William 'William Ti' (gongiste), Reynold Nader (guitar accompanist), Sony A. Louis 'Ti Boeuf' (drummer), Claudy Emmanuel on bass guitar and, on tam tam, Joseph Arius. This is the band's fourth reunion and they hope to parlay the sound of the past despite the many changes and separations it had endured throughout its nearly 50 year history.

Come fly away with the enchanting voice of Stevy Mahy. She has a reputation for singing her songs with such an ease. The lyrics in her songs flow seamlessly over rich acoustic melodies that envelop and warm the soul.
Dadou Pasquet and Tico Pasquet together
Here is a picture of two talented brothers Dadou Pasquet and Tico Pasquet. The two brothers Dadou and tico were born in Haiti to a family of musicians. Early in life the family moved to New York where they found their place in the New York based Haitian Kompa movement of the 60.
Dadou Pasquet stayed with the popular group Tabou Combo for 6 years before he decided to create his own Magnum Band with the slogan "La Seule Difference". Claude "Tico" Pasquet was a drummer and percussionist.
Brothers Posse - and its Kanaval 2013
Here is a picture of Brothers Posse. This is the musical band that managed to become very critical to President Michel Martelly specially in Carnival 2012 and 2013.
There were sosme issues in 2013 as to whether or not to let Brothers Posse participate in National Kanaval in Cap-Haitien. Obviously, the Government did not like the idea to let Brothers Posse to make things harder for them.
Posse who made a popular Kanaval this year to be excluded from the list.
Pipo and Arly lariviere of Nu-Look
This is the picture representing the team of Nu-look that was supposed to take the band to a new level after Gazman Couleur had left the group to form his own band.
However, this was not to be the case. After a few years together, the two Pipo and Arly lariviere had to split.
In December, 2012, Pipo announced that he gave his letter of resignation to Nu-Look.
According to Pipo," It is with great regret that I announce my resignation from Nu Look effective immediately"
