Haitian Ralph Gilles, new Global Design Chief for Fiat-Chrysler
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV on Wednesday announced Ralph Gilles will lead the company's global design operations, effective immediately. Gilles will still remain in charge of exterior and interior design.
Haitian Ralph Gilles now Global Design Operations Head. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles made public the promotion of Haitian-Canadian Ralph Gilles as new Head of Global Design Operations. Gilles will still handle the responsibilities as Head of North American Operations.
Gilles studied design at Detroit's College for Creative Studies. He has also been selected as a member of Fiat Chrysler Group Executive Council, a senior management level deliberative organization.
Other leadership positions he has brought his creative talents to include Chrysler's Motorsports, SRT, and Dodge products.
President Ma Ying-jeou of Taiwan in Haiti with Martelly and Paul

Taiwan Partners with Haiti on Reconstruction Projects Now and in the Future. Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou is committed to help Haiti rebuild the country. He assured President Martelly Taiwan will never abandon Haiti but aid in moving the country forward.
Taiwan,. mulling over the possibility of a solar energy program to help slash Haiti's energy costs, says the savings could be used for critical rebuilding projects.
Taiwan has already funded road construction and will tackle agricultural development in the future.
Haiti New Court of Cassation inaugurated by Ma Ying-jeou

Earthquake-Proof Court of Cassation Opens. Taiwan has completely funded the rebuilding of the Court of Cassation at $15.8 MM USD. Taiwan's President Ma Ying-jeou presided over the launching ceremony.
Martelly said, ". . . with international cooperation as sustained . . . as . . . offered by Taiwan . . . we will . . . advance in rebuilding the country."
The new building is seismically improved with updated security features and will improve the rule of law, according to Martelly.
USAID Helping Haiti

U.S. Beneficiary of Aid Assistance, not Haiti. Although $10 billion was pledged to Haiti to rebuild the country after the 2010 earthquake, just 9,000 homes have been built. USAID admits the main beneficiary of U.S. aid is the U.S. Every dollar USAID has spent, less than 1 cent has gone to Haiti.
Contractor Chemonics got more USAID money than any other company. The truth is foreign firms use aid money to promote ". . . U.S. foreign policy objectives and priorities."
Charles Castel, Haiti Central Bank Governor

Charles Castel, Bank of the Republic of Haiti Governor, is responding to worries the Haitian gourde is losing value too quickly. According to him, "There is a gross reserve of $2 billion (US), and $1.2 billion net ". in the state's reserve"
He reports "indicators are not too alarming (but also) . . . we cannot be complacent to say everything is fine . . ." Is this reassuring to Haitians withdrawing money and sending it overseas?

The citizens of Cite Soleil are incensed West representative Gonzague Day refused to fund the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, their town's patron saint. Residents rioted, burning tires, throwing rocks, and breaking windshields.
Day defended the theft charges he had stolen 17 million gourdes, out of 23 million needed to hold the feast day. With only 6 million gourdes left in the budget, Day could claim there weren't enough funds for Cite Soleil's celebration.
Roro (Ronald) Nelson accused of assault and battery on his ex-girlfriend Marie Astrid Pantal Walsh
Here is a picture of the guy who was accused for the Domestic violence case. Ronald (Roro) Nelson, an active member of the Haitian community of Boston was accused of assault and battery on his ex-girlfriend Marie Astrid Pantal Walsh at BMC Dorchester court in Boston on November 14, 2011.
According to declaration made by the victim, Roro Nelson beat her.
Roro Nelson was found guilty in the Dorchester Civil Court in Boston, Massachusetts by a jury of 12 and his conviction carried a one year probation.
Haiti School bus Dignite (Diyite)
Dignite is the name of a Haitian school bus company established in 1985. During the last academic year, the company has carried nearly 150,000 students every day in 86 provincial cities and 19 points in Port-au-Prince. Recently, on Tuesday 26th August, 2014, Castro Arboite, the Director of "Dignite" has announced the addition of 50 new buses over its present fleet of 257 buses spread across the ten departments providing free transportation to the school children. This addition of the fleet came as a result of the U.S$ 2 million donation assistance extended by the Government of South Korea on 3rd May 2013, to the Haitian government for purchase of 50 school buses over a period of two years. 'Dignite' has always been consistent to fulfill its mission of bringing students to their teaching places and return homes. Earlier, "Dignite" used to charge monthly fees for carrying students. In 2011, President Martelly decided to make this service free and sanctioned a yearly subsidy of 292 million gourdes to the company for maintaining its fleet for the operation
