On March 9, 2014, in a meeting between the Senator and members of MORACS in Coral Soult in Sud-Est, Haiti, near Marigot, Senator Lambert Wencesclass attacked a young student activist named Daniel Theodore. His two punches on the mouth caused him injury and loss of two teeth because the student called the declaration by Lambert, the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee a lie. The senator had admitted his attack and justified his act because the student had said whatever Lambert had mentioned in his statement was not true. He had further added, Haiti is the only country where people don't respect the elected representatives. It is not he who should apologize; it is the citizen who must offer him an apology.
Haiti Olympic multi-sports complex first anniversary

Following the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti in 2011, the National Olympic Committee of Haiti took on the job to restore all the sporting infrastructures of the country. As an integral part of this project, the Sport for Hope Centre was constructed at an expenditure of $18 million. The sports complex is vast and provides all the essential and advanced infrastructures and facilities. Classrooms, offices, medical rooms, gazebos and fitness centres are the different parts of the complex. The IDB sponsored the building of a boarding place as well. The complex was inaugurated on 15 July 2014 by the President Michel Martelly, accompanied by the Prime Minister. This year the Sport for Hope Centre celebrated its first anniversary by hosting numerous sporting events, educational camps and seminars. With the generous contribution and support from the International Sports Federation, Olympic Movement and the Haitian Government, the multi sport complex is doing very well in its progress by providing opportunities to the Haitian athletes.
Haiti declines Dominican Republic demand for apology
According to Communications Minister Rotchild Francois Jr. "the Haitian government would not be apologizing" as Haiti declines Dominican Republic demand for apology.
There has been a long standing conflict between Haiti and the Dominican Republic on matters of cultural differences. This conflict recently reached its peak with the deportation of the Haitians living in the Dominican Republic. The Dominican has now claimed apology from the Haitians for comments made by the Haitian government regarding the Dominican Republic. The Haitian President and Foreign Minister held the DR responsible for inhuman treatment of non-natives living in the country, before the Organization of American States (OAS). The Haitian Government has long been looking for an understanding with the DR regarding matters of communication, border points and repatriation of DR. However, the Dominican Republic has resisted any such effort demanding first an apology from the Haitian government.

The Villa Paula since 1989 has been named the most haunted building in Miami. It was built in 1925 and the first inhabitants were Senior Don Domigo Milode and his wife Paula. Six years after they moved in, Paula died of an unfortunate complication that arose during her leg amputation. Ever since paranormal activities have been reported at the Villa. There have been reports of unexplainable knocking of the front door, mysterious death of cats, clamping of heels in the backyard and even to the extent of sightings of Paula. The Villa with all its beautiful Cuban decors is since the 90s is preferably left unoccupied, at least after sunset.

The Caracol Industrial Park (PIC), sponsored by the Government of Haiti, the United States and the Inter American Development Bank, is an initiative to boost the employment conditions in Haiti. Since its birth in 2012, the PIC has seen tremendous development and progress. Within three years, there has been an increase in the number of jobs from 1300 in November 2012 to 7000 in January 2015. The industrial zone stretches for over 250 acres and has potential space for many small scale industries. Haiti's garment sector is re-emerging from this area, with the S & H Global acting as the beacon. The company provides as many as 60 jobs per week. The Haitian painting company in the PIC, the Caribbean Paintings, has recorded $51 million export in 2014. Off lately, around 700 small scale industries have had their inception around the PIC. The power plants have benefitted the Haitians living in the neighboring regions to a huge extent, providing electricity to nearly 8500 homes. The PIC is therefore considered a very efficient project for the economic growth as well as providing the Haitians with jobs.

The Clinton Foundation, founded by former president Bill Clinton, is a non-profit organization that aims to increase global health and wellness, create equal opportunity, empower women and also establish harmony between the different communities. On 28 and 29 July, the President of the Clinton Foundation, Donna Shalala and the Vice-chairperson, Chelsea Clinton will be visiting the foundations in Haiti that are working for the country's development. They will be accompanied by significant businesspersons and philanthropists. Their main objective is the economic development of Haiti alongside the women empowerment programs, educational development, improvement of the way of life, etc. The Clinton Foundation has been raising funds for Haiti since 2010, and in 5 years they have raised around $30 million. A branch of the Clinton Foundation, The Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership (CGEP), focuses on the marketing of local goods in Haiti. The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) is also another arm of the Foundation that is making efforts to provide sustainable jobs to the people and improving Haiti's scope as a country for prospective investment.

21 July 2015 saw the installation of Gamall Augustin as the seventh Director General of Radio Télévision Nationale D'Haïti (RTNH). The RTNH is the state broadcaster of Haiti and airs information about the activities of the government and promotes the Haitian culture. Mr. Gamall succeeded Hérold Israël who has held the post since January 2015. The government spokesperson, Francois Rothchild Jr. and Calvin Cadet, the Director General of the Ministry of Communication entrusted Gamall Augustin with his responsibility. With the new post, he was also asked to pay heed to the instructions laid down by the Head of State, while carrying out the functioning of the media. The upcoming events to be covered by the media include inter alia, elections and the Caribbean Arts Festival. It is the first objective of the new DG to peacefully conclude the broadcast of these events.

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley wants answers from the Red Cross. He's giving them a week to come up with information regarding programs it operated, their cost, how much money was given to project partners, and how much actually ended up helping those in need.
The Red Cross has thrown up obstacles to agencies like the Center for Economic and Policy Research, who wants to know how the aid organization has spent many millions of dollars, with little to show for it.

Many contenders for the office of the presidency are wading into battle. Some names being rumored to run are Maryse Narcisse, Jude Celestin, Edgard Leblanc Fils, Francisco De La Cruz, and Alexandre Jean-Marie Getheens.
Ex-Prime Minster Laurent Lamothe has sought the office but was rejected because he did not possess a discharge document, verifying he administered public monies correctly.

Funeral of Michel Tassy of Septentrional group
Here is a picture taken during the funeral of Michel Tassy of Septentrional group. He became a member of the musical group at the age of 19. He was a lead singer, administrator for 52 years until his death in 2015.
Minister of Culture Offers Tribute to Michel Tassy
Michel Tassy of the group Septentrional died of a pulmonary failure on June 28th. He was 71. The Minister of Culture, Raton, attended a ceremony for Tassy at Cap Haitien's City Hall where his corpse could be viewed.
Raton offered her sympathies to Tassy's immediate and extended family, and also close friends. The funeral was held at the Cap-Haitien Cathedral. Thousands of Haitians, among them government officials, musicians, and devoted fans, were in attendance.
