Michel Martelly enjoying 80 percent approval
According to the latest poll figure, Haitian president Michel Martelly is enjoying a comfortable approval rating among Haitians. Based on a poll taken by the PR firms, Newlink and Dagmar, his approval rating was 80.5% of the Haitian population.
This actually put the Haitian President the highest rated leader in the Western Hemisphere.
However, many in the opposition do not believe this poll, stating that it was not conducted in an objective manner

Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre on Long Island
Here is a case most Haitians who work in the United states or in other countries are very familiar with. A Haitian nurse is bringing a lawsuit to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre on Long Island for not taking action against ongoing discrimination against her. Diana St. Gerard, who worked in the mental health unit at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre claims that white staff are allowed to discriminate against her, saying that she practices Voodoo and is involved in Black magic because she is Haitian.
IMF, International Monetary Fund
With the IMF's recent visit to Haiti, the question on most minds is whether Haiti is being considered for a loan. If this eventuality should come to pass, questions of the conditionality of their loans are sure to arise. It is a widely known part of any IMF agreement that, while the IMF doesn't ask for collateral from borrowing countries, they implement conditions to the government for the correcting of macroeconomic imbalances through reformations of internal policies. A country's failure to meet these conditions will result in the loan being denied.
Grande Colline Mountain Pic, Haiti
The largely uninhabited mountain range of Grande Colline is located in the South East of Haiti at the coordinates, 18° 17' 58" North, 72° 41' 29". As part of the education program, Terra Incognita, a team traveled to the Chaîne de la Grande Colline for the program's first episode. The theme of the series is to probe those remote parts of Haiti that are largely untraversed and, in some cases, even undiscovered.
New image for Prestige Beer
Complete with an image of the country in gold and set in a red and blue backdrop of the Haitian colors, the new bottling line of the country's trademark Prestige Beer is set to ramp up not just the image, but the production of the Haitian lager beer. This new look comes on the heels of new management and investment to the tune of $40 million with the promise of $100 million more.
Cornillon - Brand Bois, Haiti
East of Port-au-Prince, in the district of Croix-des-Bouquets, is Cornillon, a town right along the Haitian border with the Dominican Republic. As of 2009, there were over 50,000 people living in the municipality that has its main source of income tied to the cultivation of crops such as fruit trees and coffee. The town recently celebrated its 125th anniversary, an event for which they had a fundraiser and welcomed President Martelly, who went bearing gifts of agricultural tools for local farmers and scholarships to universities for 3 deserving residents.
