Here is an improvement that can help Haiti to move forward with tourism. According to the 2013 Global Peace Index, Haiti improved from 107 to 92 position in the world. Basically is becoming safer and safer.

Haiti is the Caribbean island that has made greater improvement since the last report. We are safer than the Dominican Republic and Jamaica; at the exception of Cuba. Here is the actual ranking for 2013:
Cuba: 65 position out of 107
Haiti: 92 position out of 107
Dominican Republic: 94 position out of 107
Jamaica: 117 position out of 107

According to his research, People from the Caribbean who come to live in the US see a decline in their health over the years. Dr. Boutin-Foster associates the health decline among Caribbean nationals to mainly a sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy diets, loss of major sources of social support, and greater stress in the new environment.

Haitian comedian Papa Pye, AKA Jean-Claude Joseph

Here is a picture of Jean-Claude Joseph, aka Papa Pye, King of Haitian Comedy and Roland Berthold. Papa Pye who sometimes refers to himself as Father Peter was born in Petion-Ville but also lived in Bas-Peu-Chose and Carrefour

His popularity started in the 1980s when he starred in the popular comedy series "La Vie Nan Bouk La". This series was loved by many and displayed the high talent of the actor Jean-Claude Joseph as well as many who performed in the show.

From the series, Papa Pye, AKA Jean-Claude Joseph moved onto a successful film career. He starred in over 20 movies. He is a train karate instructor, having achieved his black belt.

The Haitian comedian Fernel Valcourt AKA Jesifra with Tonton Bicha

Born in Cap-Haitien, Fernel Valcourt is Haitian comedian known under the name of "Jesifra".

He started on stage in the performing arts at an early age and soon his talent captured the national audience. He was a great influence to the actual superstar in Haitian comedy, Tonton Bicha.
His popularity is high in Haiti as well in the Haitian Diaspora all over the world. Fernel Valcourt AKA Jesifra uses his comedy figure Jesifra to take jabs at current as well as previous Haitian authority figures.

Some of his most popular works include: "The Donkey is Exhausted", "Love Knows No Boundaries", and "The Hick has Thrown in the Towel",

Here is a picture of the University of Ethnology in Haiti. It is also known as Faculte D'ethnologie.

In 2013, students at the University of Ethnology Battled Police Over Student Killing. For some unknown reasons, it was reported that the Haitian National Police (HNP) fired at and killed a student on the University of Haiti school grounds.
Upset by the killing, Ethnology students started a demonstration against the killing. When the HNP arrived, they fired at length on the demonstrators to scatter them. HNP's behavior suggests Haiti still has remnants of a military government in its midst.
