The Martelly's government has a goal to transform the entire SouthEast Department into a tourist destination. The Haitian Minister of Tourism, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin brought several Venezuelan Investors to the city of Jacmel to evaluate how they could contribute in the development of the region. There is currently about $30 millions available for investment in infrastructure and several key points in Jacmel and the region.
The Minister of Tourism, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, is currently focused on several areas such as improving the capacity of the seaport in Jacmel to accommodate large cruise liners. The government wants the SouthEast Department to benefit as well from the tourists who come via cruise line.
