Rats Abandoning Sinking Ship

The notion that "Rats Abandoning Sinking Ship" imply those leaving are selfish and disloyal. It is something that is true in many aspects of life and can be apply in politic, workplace or any other field.

In a sense, it means that when things are good, I am with you. However, the moment I see danger in the horizon, I will be the first to leave and will no longer want to be part of the team.

There have been many examples of Rats Abandoning Sinking Ship in the Haitian politic. Some people will find their way in any government. They usually not attached to any ideology.

Tet Kale Slogan transformed to Kale Tet by opposition

The government of Michel Martelly is not appreciative of the fact that many in the opposition is now referring to his government as a government of Kale Tet. This is not what it was intended to be.

Originally, Michel Martelly had the slogan Tet Kale that worked very well for him. It worked so well that he decided to form a new Political party under the name Tet Kale.

However, as the opposition is getting stronger and more vocal, they managed to transform is slogan to Kale Tet, an name not very flattering in the Haitian Creole.

Haiti Seaport services ranked last in the region

A recent study found Haiti to be ranked dead last in the region for services related to port facilities, airports, roads and infrastructure.

Ask any one who has a history of shipping products or materials to Haiti and that person would probably agree with this study

In the meantime, aou neighbor, Dominican Republic is listed among the countries that have been providing the best services.

The study evaluated the quality of transport infrastructure of the country, including cost, time, customs, ability to track shipment and other related factors

Here is a picture of two Haitian leaders: Jean-Jacques Dessalines and Alexandre Petion. In public protest that took place in November 2013, the race issue cameback as the people protesting took their fight to the affluent city of Petion-Ville.

The anti-government protest became violent as those opposed to the demonstration threw stones and Police fired tear gas

As the protest took the turn to go to Petion-Ville, many stated that "Dessalines was visiting Petion".

The pressure has been mounting for the Government of Martelly-Lamothe to have the election by the end of 2013. Many sectors in the population are already protesting, stating that he needs to remove himself from the governmennt.

His biggest challenge will likely be the second Tuesday of January 2014. Many already predicted that at that time there will be a crisis in Haiti
