Taking into consideration the ongoing problem with falsification of visas, passports and travel documents by many Haitian citizens, the United States and Haiti agree to form a mission to deal with the problem.
Haiti and U.S. Band Together to Fight Travel ID Scams
In an effort to combat counterfeit visas, passports, and other travel IDs, Haitian Justice Minister, Pierre-Richard Casimir, and U.S. Embassy in Haiti Charge d'Affaires, Brian Shukan, joined forces to take preventive action and also investigate such crimes impacting both nations.
Haitians, victims of travel ID scams, whose cases will be heard by Ministry authorities, will help in the prosecution of scammers falsely claiming they are U.S. Consulate representatives.

Professor Etienne, running for the Haitian presidency, was assailed by University of Haiti students on the UOH campus.
Etienne, representing Organization of People Struggling, spoke of UOH as ". . . a space where differing ideas can be presented in peace . . ." This provoked some students to throw chairs at Etienne.
The reaction points to Haiti's fragile electoral system, in which PEC President Opont is accused of operating a corrupt electoral process. Haitians demand Opont be removed immediately.

Jean-Charles Moise Runs Against Martelly Machine
Ex-senator Jean-Charles Moise, a presidential candidate, inaugurated his campaign in Saint Michel de l'Attalaye. He represents the Pitit Dessalines party.
Although a popular candidate, he is pitted against the corrupt Provisional Electoral Council and the controlling influence of the Martelly government.
Born in North Department of Milot he has served three terms as its mayor. In the past he has campaigned under the banners of Lespwa and Inite, but his loyalty remains with Lavalassienne.

Haitian Police Chief, Godson Orelus, has had his commission extended for three more years by presidential decree, since Haiti won't have a sitting parliament until 2016.
Orelus has hired 100-plus officers with known ties to Martelly, with more than a third of them lacking police academy training.
The police have allowed violent behavior to predominate at August's parliamentary elections to discourage balloting at the polls. In other instances they have used excessive force against peaceful protestors.
Renovating work completed at Port of Petit Goave
Here is a picture of the newly renovated Port of Petit Goave. It was inaugurated on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, by president Michel Martelly. What new with this port is a new customs offices and a bonded warehouses that is now complies with the ISPS Code.
The new Port of Petit Goave is comprised of an area of 51 m2. It is part of a plan to make Haiti more accessible to the international trade. It will offer transportation of people and merchandises to the city as well as the entire region. The port is expected to facilitate the transport of agricultural and handicraft production and also improve tourism in the region
The reconstruction of the Port of Petit-Goâve was done locally creating several needed jobs. Economic Construction Maritime SA (Eccomar SA) was in charge of the project which lasted about ten months at a cost of $ 2.33 million
