Here is a picture of President Michel Martelly as he received credentials of Peter Mulrean, the new US Ambassador to Haiti. He replaced Pamela A. White who had served as the U.S. Ambassador to Haiti since July 2012.

On October 6, 2015, Peter F. Mulrean has been nominated as the new Ambassador to the Republic of Haiti by U.S President Obama. His previous appointment was as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland where he managed a diverse portfolio across many agencies. Mulrean is known as the expert on the Balkans, the Middle East, U.S. humanitarian assistance, and post conflict reconstruction. He is a graduate from Harvard University and recipient of senior Foreign Service performance awards, likes of, Meritorious Honor Awards and Superior Honor Awards. He is married, father of two daughters and well conversant in French, Dutch and Serbo-Croatian.

Lt. Col. Himmler Rebu, a Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC), and former commander of the Leopards Battalion believes that the resignation of electoral councilor Néhémie Joseph confirms the fact what everybody knows-- if the elections are allowed to continue, the country would lead to a catastrophe. In a letter, former Councilor Joseph had informed about several lapses which were allowed to be continued without any corrective measure. A multi-partisan group, Patriotic Resistance, a conglomeration of two dozen political parties has called for a new electoral council and has asked the transitional government to organize fair, inclusive and credible elections in Haiti. Mr. Nehemiah Joseph left the permanent electoral council because he could not comply with the selection of three electoral advisers, Patrick Metellus, Salnave Exantus and Yves Benoit Jean-Marie at the instigation of the President of CSPJ, Me Anel Alexis Joseph.
North Miami School Principal Jean Coty Ridore Arrested

Jean Coty Ridore (38), the principal of North Miami Adult Education Center has been arrested on Monday, October 5th, on multiple felony charges, such as accepting unlawful compensation, official misconduct and grand theft. Multiple law enforcement agencies are investing his conduct after receiving anonymous complaints about his hiring and employment practices. Ridore used to pay employees who did not show up to work and some employees used to receive higher than their real wage so that Ridore can collect his kick back from them; some even lost their jobs who earned the ire of Ridore. On Monday he was arrested on complaints that he took $1,000 in cash to hire a no-show employee and then arranged for illegal kickbacks from the man. North Miami has suspended this year's (2015-16) grant funding of about $100,000 to the school. Ridore with salary around $110,000 had been with the school since July 2005; he was in charge of more than 400 employees.
Hansae to build apparel factory in Haiti
Here is a picture of the Seoul-based company Hansae as they are planning to build apparel factory in Haiti
Hansae, a Seoul-based clothing manufacturing company has signed an agreement with the state-run Sonapi Industrial Park to build a plant with the opportunity to employ about 5,000 Haitians. Hansae is one of the world's largest apparel makers with presence in 11 countries, employing nearly 60,000 employees. This Korean Clothes manufacturer's list of clientele includes Gap, Nike, Uniqlo H&M and Abercrombie & Fitch. From the new Haitian plant, they would be able to extend their export to the U.S market and boost its competitiveness in many ways. The detailed information about their plant's capacity, construction budget and the date of commission, etc has not yet been disclosed. SONAPI is the acronym for 'Société Nationale des Parcs Industriels', a semi-governmental agency that supports the largest number of jobs in the manufacturing sector in Haiti.
Protest Against Fraud At Haiti Election 2010

Many people took the opportunity also to commit acts of violence and vandalism on private properties. We witnessed many cars were broken into, Stores set on fire, and public properties destroyed.
A Haitian Business with Low sale volume
Here is a picture of a Haitian woman involved in the commerce. Due to her limited capacity, she is obligated to find a place in the streets of Port-au-Prince to see if she can make enough to feed her family.
These businesses usually do not find any support from the Haitian government. Access to loan is almost non existant to those business people.

Here are two candidates of the same political parties, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé of Platform VERITE faces Alix Didier Fils-Aime who is also from Platform VERITE on the runoff election for West department.
Two electoral candidates for the Senate, Alix Didier Fils-Aime and Antonio Chéramy from the same political party, VERITE, are fighting with each other to run for the Senate as they are refusing to withdraw. These two candidates for the Western department registered under the same banner of TRUTH, have openly displayed their enmity to the local media. On September 8, 2015, TRUTH, the leading party in the upcoming Haiti election has announced that it was pulling itself out from the next month's legislative elections, because they considered their party was the primary victim of violence during the first round of voting in August .The popular singer Antonio Cheramy alias Don Kato has accused Alix Didier Fils-Aimé to be in reality a pawn of President Martelly. According to him, the TRUTH platform has not received any financial support after the exclusion of Jacky Lumarque. It is a matter of surprise to him how Alix Fils-Aime, a former president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is spending so much on his campaign. However, the fight between these two candidates from the same party is a matter of disgrace to the public.

Presidential candidate Samuel Madistin, representing People's Patriotic Movement Dessalinien, has a platform encompassing three objectives: a secure Haiti in every respect; focus on domestic products and services; and reinvigoration of agricultural sector.
He wants to form an armed forces; improve energy infrastructure, and create 500,000 employment opportunities. Under his administration the Board of Communal Sections will govern all levels of educational institutions.
In the cultural sector he will build an Olympic Village, a scientific research center, and an Information Technology Village.

European Union New Ambassador Vincent Degert Pledges Cooperation with Haiti
New Ambassador of the European Union (EU) in Haiti, Vincent Degert, presented President Michel Martelly with Degert's curriculum vitae during a formal introduction of him to the GOH. Degert is replacing retiring Ambassador Javier Nino Perez.
Degert repeated the EU's dedication to follow through on projects the EU has in the pipeline. He also demonstrated his eagerness to facilitate stronger bonds of fraternity and agreement between the Eurozone and Haiti.
