Franketienne, a well respected artist

This is the picture of the Haitian artist Frankétienne.

Frankétienne was born under the name of Franck Étienne on April 12, 1936. He is from a small town called Ravine-Sèche in Haiti. Franketienne is a well accomplished artist; he is an author, poet, playwright, musician and painter.

As a Creole language writer, he has written in both French and Haitian creole.

Franketienne was a candidate for the Nobel Prize for Literature in the year 2009.

One of only a handful of colleges located outside of major Haitian cities, UCNH meets the need for higher education among the less wealthy of Haiti.

Born on September 17, 1840, in the city of Cap-Haïtien, Oswald Durand was a teacher and later was elected to Congress in 1885. He held that position for six times

Oswald Durand passed away on April 22, 1906.

It was built in colonial times by the French in order to fight the British troops. It is now considered as a touristic site that can contribute to the development of the region.

The people in Saint Louis Du Sud have been trying to promote the site recently. They have organized the "Festival of the Mermaid" which is a great attraction to the sea and also an opportunity for people to discover Fort Des Oliviers. The city of Saint-Louis du Sud attracts thousands of visitors from other regions in the country and the Diaspora in a fun atmosphere while enjoying nature in this small corner of Haiti. St. Louis South, was called the city of Louis XIV, a king in France. It is one of the oldest cities in Haiti. It was founded in 1508

This is a picture of the famous Haitian boxer Bermane Stiverne.

He recently beat Chris Arreola for the WBC heavyweight title elimination at the Citizens Business Bank Arena, in Canada.
The fight was HBO-televised. Bermane Stiverne who before the fight had a record of 23-1-1, 20 knockouts wan over the local favorite Chris Arreola by controlling the fight with consistent body shots.

Stiverne, who won by scores of 118-109 and 117-110 insisted that he gets some recognition since the opponent had everything going for him before the fight. Bermane Stiverne was an underdog going into the fight with Chris Arreola

It has several shows that have captivated the Haitian audience in Haiti and in the diaspora. The show Ranmase is the most popular radio show in the nation. It is being held every Saturday from 8:00 AM until two, sometime three, or four PM.
